The Voice season 12 “Battles Premiere Part 2” took place on March 21, 2017, and some hopefuls were sent home even before the knockouts began. The Voice season 12 "Battles Premiere Part 2" However, The Voice season 12 “Battles Premiere Part 2” Coaches Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine, Alicia Keys and Blake Shelton worked alongside celebrity mentors Celine Dion, John Legend, DJ Khaled and Luke Bryan to take the artists to the next level.
Here is the recap of what transpired during The Voice season 12 “Battles Premiere Part 2″: Team Gwen: Johnny Gates Wins Sammie Zonana Gwen pressured her team members-Johnny Gates and Sammie Zonana to sing one of Celine Dion’s hit songs “I Drove All Night,” and they had to work on in front of Dion herself, oops! that wasn’t an easy task you will agree with me, but they gave it a try. Moreover, the duo both have the skill which helped them worked on the arrangement and their effort, Celine Dion couldn’t help but admitted “It’s so original,” while Gwen added “It feels like you’re in a band together.” Consequently, the duo’s final performance really was good, you could easily notice the connection between them and both delivered on the vocal and emotional fronts. Describing their performance coach Shelton said it’s a “loose” and “edgy.” Whilst Alicia Keys noted “I love your individuality.” However, Other coaches including Gwen went with Gates and their choice automatically sent Zonana home. Team Alicia: Chris Blue Wins R.J. Collins Next on the line was Team Alicia. Coach Alicia came up with the combination of classic and current styles of each artist, she made them sing “Adorn” by Miguel. As their coach, Alicia warned them against taking too many liberties with the melody. The duo were peppy in their final performance, they both displayed their artistry. Judging by their performance, it looks more competitive and the same energy was shown by them. For Shelton, Collins’ stage presence was good, but he swiftly stated his decision to go with Blue. Not only Shelton, coach Alicia was also impressed with the emotion Collins brought to the performance, but she still went with Blue and unfortunately Collins was sent home. Team Blake: Aliyah Moulden Wins Dawson Coyle After their performance of “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina & the Waves, Blake choose Aliyah not Dawson. Moreover, Moulden would probably be a great fit on Team Gwen. Shelton told them “You both brought a youthfulness and fun.” But he picked Moulden as the winner, keeping the young artist around for a little longer. While Alicia was surprised with a last-minute steal, keeping Coyle around, too. To some Blake’s choice wasn’t Fair, because they believe that Dawson performed better than Aliyah, but the choice has been made and there is nothing we can do about that. Thank goodness coach Alicia decided to keep Dawson too. Team Adam: Josh West Wins Nala Price After performing their duet of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears, Price was beaten by West and Adam sent her home. Team Gwen: Aaliyah Rose Wins Savannah Leighton The duo performed “Treat You better” and Aaliyah beat Leighton to it which earned her a chance in the knockouts, while Leighton had to leave. Team Blake: Andrea Thomas Wins Micah Tryba They performed their rendition of “What Hurts the Most” by Rascal Flatts. Andrea during the competition proved beyond all reasonable doubts that she deserves a place in the knockouts and the opportunity was given her by coach Blake.
