The Apprentice 2016 finalists have emerged and fans are now looking forward to the winner of the Apprentice season 12.
After last night’s interview section, three out of the five finalists were laid off while only two advanced to the Sunday finals.
Those who were fired by Lord Sugar are Grainne McCoy, Jessica Cunningham, and Frances Bishop while Courtney Wood who wants Lord Sugar to invest in his novelty gift business, and Alana Spencer, who plans to sell her traybake cakes across the nation, made it to the finals after three rounds of exhaustive interviews.
The candidates during the episode were quizzed by Lord Sugar’s trusted interviewers, including full-time aide Claude Littner.
Last night event showcased what the hopefuls’ business plans involved while their ideas were thoroughly scrutinized.
Lord Sugar just addressed the candidates loopholes and fired them in that order.
For Grainne McCoy, her make-up business didn’t impress Lord Sugar and after patiently waiting for her to round up, he said “You know I’m going to be bluntly honest with you – I just can’t see this. It’s been nice to be associated with you but it is with regret you’re fired.”
On her part Jessica Cunningham’s business is about celebrities endorsing and wearing her branded clothes, reaping the rewards as their followers rush out to buy them too.
But the proposal was too ‘risky’ for Lord Sugar to adopt and invest in.
He retorted “Jessica, I think you’ve got great sales ability but it’s a very, very risky idea, Jessica, it is with regret that you’re fired.”
While Frances Bishop got questioned over how her business idea which involves shops selling end-of-line boutique children’s clothes on to consumers would make it into a national chain.
Lord Sugar in his usual way said “Frances, this idea is not scalable, I want a big business so I wish you the best of luck but I am not going to be investing in you. So, Frances, you’re fired.”
Meanwhile, in Sunday finals each of The Apprentice 2016 finalists will have to pitch and present their own business ideas to industry experts with the help of fired contestants.
